I first found my passion for reproductive and maternal-child healthcare while earning my Master’s in Public Health from Boston University. This passion, paired with my many years of nanny experience and love for newborns and infants, brought me to find my niche – as a Birth and Postpartum Doula. Through my education and experiences, I have quickly developed an overwhelming passion for caring for families prior to, during and after childbirth. I believe in holistic, patient centered care, and hope to study as a Certified Nurse Midwife.

With a diverse educational and professional medical background, I hope to facilitate comfortable and complete communication between my client and their health care provider, so my clients are able to have and make informed choices and decisions. My goal is to do everything I can to not only support and empower mothers, but also help them to have the rewarding and stress-free experience in childbirth and postpartum that they deserve. My belief is that every birthing person should have the opportunity to experience their best birth, however that may look. I strive to provide personalized, evidence-based care, utilizing my wealth of knowledge, while supporting new parents emotionally and physically. Communication and connection are top priorities in my care for clients.  My goal as your doula is for you to look back on your birth as a positive and empowering experience defined by love and connection.

At Home With Julie

Outside of my birth and postpartum work, I am very active, whether it is inside a gym (during non-COVID times!) or outside hiking. For about 15 years, I was a competitive figure skater both for club teams and for my college at the University of Delaware. Though now retired, those years and the sport are still with me! I also volunteer my time as a Research Analyst for an organization called the Ellie Fund for Breast Cancer, running research projects and writing grant applications. You can always find me listening to birth related podcasts, spending time with my family and drinking too much coffee!
