Supporting Your Journey
The Baby Mavens recognize that there are many, many different ways to create a family. At our inception, we created a class that was just for adopting families. If you have struggled to conceive on your own, or decided from the start that adoption was for you, you deserve education, and support in a way that is unique to your experience. As we have garnered more understanding for the process over the years, we have learned so much that we hope to pass on to families as they begin their adventure to parenthood through adoption.
How We Can Help
Consultations
Our unique expertise will give you a new perspective on adopting a newborn domestically. Our consultations offer you a place that is not your agency, not your lawyer, and not your social worker; we can offer you support and place to ask questions. Our consultations are perfect for families that would like a little more information than our class offers.
$150 (4 hours)
Education
The Baby Mavens have created a niche class, JUST for adoptive families. Our Preparing For Your Adopted Bundle class will help you learn how to best prepare for your adoption, both practically and emotionally. This class is not just baby care- feeding, soothing, & sleep, but how to prepare for travel and staying in another state for a domestic adoption.
$100 (2 hour class)
Hands On
Our daytime & overnight care is for adopting families too! Sometimes, adoption can take a toll on your emotions, having a doula with you that understands what you have been through, while giving you practical evidence-based education, can make all the difference. Our doulas will support your family the way that is best for YOU, and your situation.
$35/hour
Resources and Referrals

*Local Adoption Friendly Pediatric Practices *Connecting with other adoptive families *Lawyers that can help with private adoptions *Local trusted adoption agencies *Support groups for adoptive families *The best books, websites, articles and movies about adoption *Advice on domestic travel for adoption
When Things Don’t Go According To Plan
We understand that the path to adoption is not always easy, it can take years of hard work and planning and sometimes dreams are shattered. We have worked with many families over the years that have experienced a “disruption”, where the birth mother changed her mind before the final papers were signed. We know that your agency can prepare you for this, but the emotional toll it can take can be lasting. Our grief and loss support can help you too, so that someday you can feel ready to try again.
