Alexa Goldin
*Birth Doula *CPR/First Aid Certified
My interest in birth work was first piqued when a midwife spoke to my freshman college anthropology class about her career experiences. Little did I know that this interest would turn into a career of my own when, over ten years later, a colleague would mention to me that she would want me at her next birth if I were a doula. Since that birth, I have been hooked on all things birth-related. In graduate school, I studied elementary education and social justice in education. This has evolved into a desire for bettering the birthing world. I want to help families feel empowered, educated, and informed about their births. I believe that communication is key. Each family and experience is different and I take the time to learn about my clients in order to make their experiences incredibly special.

Originally from San Francisco, I studied theatre at the University of Oregon and elementary education at Mills College in Oakland, CA. I did theatre for twenty years and have worked with children ranging from birth to ten years for over twenty years. In my spare time, I can be found knitting anything from socks to sweaters to Halloween costumes, reading a book, or spouting random knowledge about musical theatre.
